‘Awwn! She’s beautiful. We forgive you’, funny reactions as ‘Policewoman’s apologises for muddling up National anthem
Funny reactions are trailing the apology tendered by the ‘policewoman’ who muddled up Nigeria’s national anthem during a nationally televised conference of senior police officers on Monday.
It turned out that the woman is actually a Nigerian actress, singer and rapper Mercy Isoyip, better known as Descushiel.
The actress became a butt of jokes after she muddled up the lyrics of the National Anthem at the opening of the conference on Monday, October 30.
She later took to social media to apologise for the incident.
In a video she released, where she appeared sober and without make-up, she apologized to the Nigeria Police Force and Nigerians for the viral gaffe.
Reactions to the apology video have been mixed and interesting.
Some men were not concerned about what she was saying but about how she looked and gave her their pardon on that basis.
A few however criticized her for not doing her homework as a singer before stepping on stage to perform, while yet a few others observed that it might have been stage fright that made her forget the correct lyrics.
