The ex-husband of Patience Egbor, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Face of Beauty pageant, Mr. Peter has refuted the allegations of abandoning his wife after finishing her money.

Patience Egbor had granted a media interview where she called out her ex-husband for being responsible for her downfall and abandoning her and their children at the lowest point of her life.

She claimed she was the one financing the home as she was making millions from her pageant business.

She alleged that once fortunes changed for her, Mr. Peter decided to abandon her.

Patience also known as Patra claimed Peter tricked her to give him money to travel for a training and that after he collected the money, he absconded and cut off communication with her.

She alleged that Peter would send her as low as N2000 to feed herself and their two children. She claimed that she went days without eating because whatever money she got went into buying diapers and other needs of the children.

In a response via a proxy, Mr Peter said he never abandoned his children, but only ended the marriage because it was not working.

He said he had no intention of dragging his wife online for the sake of their children.

He said he had been supporting his children and was keeping receipts of his transfers but would not be sharing them on social media.

Read his full statement:

“At the end of the day, I’ll never be seen doing online dragging with an ex I was once married to. I have too much respect for my children and for the union of wedlock that brought them into this earth.

So for these reasons. I will not tarnish, debunk, or try to defend anything to any online in-laws that weren’t there during the course of a 5 year marriage where lots of events transpired indoors to now know better because of a one sided story being put out. Logically there’s always two sides to every story.

The Internet never forgets and my kids will never grow up to see me dragging the mom online to gain sympathy that I didn’t ask for. I’ll only strongly advise you to refrain from saying I abandoned my kids, leaving a relationship that failed due to lots of reasons best known to the participants of the relationship doesn’t mean I abandoned you or my kids and you know I have endless receipts for that, which will never be published.

The protection and covering of my kids comes first before anything else even above my own self. So kindly refrain from putting my kids out there for online vultures, you know their daddy never abandoned them. Thanks.”

Netizens have also dug out an old interview granted by Patience where she said that once a woman was providing for the family, the husband had no reason to expect respect.

Other people who know the couple have also been coming out with their versions of what transpired between the former couple.

A man who claimed to be an old school mate of the two recalled that Patience and Peter met in school when Peter was a ‘fine boy’ and a ‘happening guy’ who was the ‘class rep’ and was very popular with the ladies.

He also claimed that Patience lived a flashy life and was suspected of keeping sugar daddies who funded her expensive lifestyle. He further claimed that she was much older than Peter, but Peter decided to marry her for reasons best known to him. Listen to the classmate here.

A leaked voice note of the Face of Beauty CEO has since emerged showing that her ex-husband sends up to N60k and more for their children’s welfare contrary to her claim that he sent as little as N2000 to her for food.

In the series of leaked voice notes, the Face of Beauty CEO could be heard condemning her estranged husband for reducing their feeding allowance because some people told him the money was too much.

Patience Egbor further bragged about how her ex-husband met her rich but suddenly saw her extravagant spending as a problem.

“I chatted you and said do you know you’ve not sent N50K for the children’s food, you used to send that kind of money when you want to buy things for the children. For instance, if your children are sick, you sent more than N60k. But when it comes to food, you told me say dem tell you say money wey you dey send for food too much,” she said in part.
