Mohbad’s father, Joseph Aloba, has opened up on why he disliked Wunmi, the wife of his late son, Mohbad.
In a fresh interview, Mr. Aloba insinuated that Wunmi used diabolic means to control his son till he died.
He alleged that Wunmi wanted Mohbad to take care of her and her family alone, buying properties in her name and causing Mohbad to disregard his own father.
He said that despite the fact that he was a professional carpenter who was given contracts by outsiders to build houses for them, when his own son had a need in that field, he would rather choose a police officer or any other professional from the family of his wife to do it for him.
He also alleged that the wife controlled Mohbad’s finances, citing the example of his son’s traditional wedding.
He claimed that only he and one of his sisters attended the wedding because what they thought they were going to do there was simply an introduction.
Mr. Aloba said they carried with them a Disc Jockey who was supposed to perform at the introduction. He said they were surprised to find another DJ already set up with lots of people in attendance.
He claimed this happened because Wunmi was the one controlling the money and deciding what should happen outside what they thought was going to happen.
He repeated his claim that Wunmi would lace Mohbad’s food with sleeping pills whenever she wanted to sleep with a fellow signee of the Marlian records and would sneak to the fellow’s room once Mohbad slept.
Responding to a question, Mr. Aloba acknowledged that the couple were married traditionally and his family paid dowry for Wunmi.
Explaining the significance of the white cloth Wunmi threw into Mohbad’s grave, he said it meant that she had covered him and now Mohbad could no longer expose her.
Mohbad’s dad also narrated how he used to have his father-in-law’s number, occasionally calling him to let him know of issues between the couple.
However, when he complained about Mohbad’s unwillingness to provide for him because of Wunmi, her father blocked him.
