A lady accused of going around exam halls harvesting students’ phones at the University of Calabar (UNICAL), Cross River State, has been caught.
According to one of the students, Ruki Freeborn, the suspect was caught when she came to her exam hall to allegedly steal on Wednesday, October 25, 2023.
When her big bag was searched over ten different phones were found there, including an iPhone.
Students are usually not allowed to take their phones with them to their desks. Many leave theirs with their bags at the entrance to the hall.
The thief apparently seized such a time to strike.
Freeborn wrote: “This thief came to our exam hall to steal and was caught. Apparently, she goes, around the school (University of Calabar) with her big bag picking phones, bags, power banks etc from students. Just imagine all she had taken today along,” she said.
