A fuel tanker had an accident and burst into flames on Wednesday night on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
The accident happened about 11 pm on Wednesday but the resultant fire raged much longer as it affected at least two trucks and one or two other vehicles.
A traveller who recorded the scene on his mobile phone counted four vehicles apart from the tanker.
The fire which started at the Olowotedo Bus Stop area of the highway towards Ibadan spread into the bushes and grasses by the roadside and had reached the Deeper Christian Life Ministry’s campground end of the road by the time the traveller filmed the scene.
Motorists heading outside Lagos were diverted to the Lagos-bound lane from the turning in front of the NASFAT camp.
Firefighters were still struggling to put the fire out as of the time of filing this report
