We’ll identify the man and do the needful- Police spokesperson reacts to video of man celebrating reopening of Ladipo market with gunshots

The spokesperson of the Nigeria Police Force, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, has promised that the police will fish out the man seen in a viral video celebrating the reopening of Ladipo Market by firing shots from an AK-47 on October 17.

The controversial video shows the man firing the shots as the traders celebrated the reopening of the market that was sealed by the Lagos State government on September 27 over environmental offences.

The man joined the traders to celebrate the reopening and in the process fired some shots into the air. It is unclear if he is a police officer.

Reacting to the video, Adejobi said the man will be identified by the Lagos State police command. He added that he doubts the man is a police officer.
