Yoruba nation agitator Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho, has reunited with his family in Germany, according to his lawyers.
A video of his arrival at Hamburg Airport, Germany has hit the net. In the video, he was seen being welcomed by two men, one of whom continuously hailed him in Yoruba, ‘Igboho oosa!’ (Ighoho the god).
Recall that Sunday Igboho was arrested in July 2021 in Cotonou, Benin Republic as he was trying to travel to Germany.
His arrest was believed to have been initiated by the Nigerian government.
Igboho had fled Nigeria due to a raid on his residence by the Department of State Services (DSS).
He was subsequently charged with arms smuggling, inciting violence, and calling for the secession of the Yoruba from Nigeria.
New allegations of illegal entry and criminal association were added to the charges against him.
In March, Igboho was released from prison and placed under medical supervision in Cotonou.
He has been there until his eventual release now.
