A desperate man prevented officials of the Lagos State Traffic Management Agency (LASTMA) from towing his vehicle by lying on the road and daring the vehicle to climb over him.
The incident happened at a layby on a busy road in Lagos. The poster of the video did not specify the exact location.
The video shows the vehicle owner lying between his vehicle and the towing van summoned to remove the man’s vehicle.
The exact infraction is not known.
The action of the desperate motorist attracted many passers-by who began to question the officials about his offence.
Many of them queried the officials about the offence the man was meant to have committed, especially as his vehicle was not on the main road.
As that was going on, a motorist came along and recognized one of the LASTMA officials as the person who collected N17,000 from him last week.
He challenged him: “This is the one that collected N17,000 from me last week. Which account did you put that money in?” he queried him.
Street urchins joined the conversation and started abusing the officials, with some accusing them of extortion and wickedness.
