A Ghanaian lady in Canada as an international student is currently stranded after her friend who promised to host her failed to pick her up at the airport.
She had made arrangements with her friend for a short stay with her while they would both look for suitable accommodation for her. As part of the arrangement, the friend was to pick her up at the airport and take her to her address.
However, when she arrived and called the friend, her phone was not picked up. After many trials, she decided to lodge in a hotel which, according to her was too expensive.
She is now crying out for anyone who can assist her to allow her stay for the period it will take her to get accommodation.
Ghanaian influencer, James Annor Tetteh, popularly known as Nana Tea shared the cry for help the lady sent him via his WhatsApp.
The message reads:
“I came to Canada as an international student. A friend promised me a stay at her end upon arrival so that I can take time to look for accommodation. I got to the airport, and she refused to pick up my calls. I am in a hotel, but the cost is too much. Please can you post it on your page if I can get help with accommodation?”
The influencer revealed that he had received similar messages the previous month from others.
“This is the fifth time I have gotten this type of case in less than three months. Please, those friends promising their friends a short stay, and when they get there, they won’t answer their phones or switch off their phones, should kindly stop it. You put these people through a lot,” Nana Tea wrote.
