Nigerian teacher breaks Guinness World Record for ‘longest marathon reading aloud’ by an Individual

A Nigerian teacher, identified as John Obot, has broken the current 124-hour world record for the ‘longest marathon reading aloud’ by an individual.
The Akwa Ibom state-born teacher broke the Guinness world record set by Isakov of Turkey and is now setting a new record of 145 hours of non-stop reading aloud.
Obot, a member of the Uyo Book Club, first started the marathon on Saturday, September 5 in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State but due to technical issues, the first attempt was cancelled after a few days and restarted on Tuesday, September 13, and is expected to end at about 1 a.m. on Tuesday, September 19.
Isakov achieved this feat in 2022 after reading for 124 hours and 15 minutes.
