Some passengers who escaped from armed bandits who kidnapped some of their mates in the Okene area of Kogi State on Sunday, September 10, have cried out for help from a bush where they escaped to.
They were coming from Makurdi, Benue to Lagos when the gunmen intercepted the two commercial buses they were travelling in and abducted 10 persons.
The Kogi state police command is yet to comment on the incident.

‘’We were on our way to Lagos State when we were ambushed on the way. They started shooting at our vehicle. Some people were killed on the road. We managed to escape and ran into the bush. We are close to Okene”
Meanwhile, the Benue State Commissioner for Power, Energy, and Transport, Omale Omale, has confirmed that suspected kidnappers abducted 10 passengers on two Benue government-owned commercial buses traveling from Makurdi to Lagos.
Omale said the incident happened on Sunday afternoon, September 9, 2023, while the two buses branded Benue Links Transport were approaching Okene, Kogi State.
“The kidnappers waylaid the two buses close to Okene, Kogi state, kidnapped four passengers from one bus, and six from another, bringing the total number of passengers abducted to ten on Sunday,” he stated.
