A 39-year-old female tenant, OpeOluwa Agoro, has allegedly bitten off the right ear of her neighbour, Oloruntofunmi Folorunso, in Ogun State.

The incident happened on Oremeta Street in the Igode area of the state on Sunday during an argument on electricity bill payment.

According to the Punch the electricity distribution company servicing the area disconnected the house where both tenants live over a pending issue.

Residents consequently appointed Folorunso to collect N500 from each tenant in the house for reconnection.

According to an eyewitness who craved anonymity for fear of victimization, Folorunso was able to collect the levy from other tenants except Agoro who was said to have been having troubles with Folorunso.

When Folorunso approached Agoro over the payment, she reportedly hurled insults at him and there was an argument that escalated rapidly into fisticuffs.

In the process, Agoro dragged Folorunso closer and bit off his right ear.

The victim was said to have been rushed to the hospital for medical care, while Agoro was arrested by policemen attached to the Igode Division led by their Divisional Police Officer, SP Aremu Felicia.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, Odutola Omolola, confirmed the incident to the Punch, adding that an investigation was ongoing.
