A Ghanaian man who just realized his dream of travelling to the United Kingdom for the first time to seek greener pastures has been reported dead on arrival.

The man from Brong Ahafo in southern Ghana, left his wife and children behind to seek better opportunities in the UK through the education route but could not live to experience his first day in the European country.

He was said to have passed through all the checks at the Kotoka International Airport without any incident, boarded his flight and travelled many hours looking hale and hearty.

The deceased was said to have passed through all necessary checks by the customs and immigration officials at London Heathrow, with his passport stamped in before he started showing signs of discomfort.

He was said to have slumped just before the exit door, attracting the attention of other travellers, airport officials and paramedics who tried their best to save him.

Their efforts were abortive, as he was said to have had a massive heart attack from which he never recovered.

A friend of the deceased’s wife, who shared the sad news on Omega TV, United Kingdom, said the incident had thrown the family into mourning.

Footage shared by Omega TV shows the lifeless body of the man on a stretcher at the airport covered with a piece of cloth.

A woman believed to be a relative or friend of the deceased there to pick him up from the airport can be seen sitting on the floor wailing. Another black lady can be seen leaning against the wall, crying, while a female Heathrow Airport official, in a reflective jacket, sits near them filling out a form.
