A viral video has captured the drama that attended the return of a once-male Tajikistani to his country as a female.
The airport officials insisted that there was no resemblance between the picture on the passport and the traveller standing before them.
The officials refused to allow him passage because his/her passport, issued in 2016 to expire in 2026, clearly showed a male picture and described the gender as ‘Male’.
The transgender was subjected to intense questioning after which he/she asked the officials to call his/her mother for confirmation that the male Tajikistani shown on the passport is the same as the female Tajikistani trying to return to his/her country.
