A 29-year-old lady, Peace Chineye Ejiogu, is currently in police custody after she uploaded a video of the intimate moments of a man and his wife on social media.
Peace Ejiogu was arrested at Omodunmi Street, Mushin area of Lagos by the police after she allegedly posted the s3x action of the couple on social media when the couple stopped meeting up with her financial demands.
It is not clear how the lady got hold of the sensitive video. It is speculated that she either got it from the mobile device of one of the couple or she planted a hidden camera in their apartment. The suspect has refused to confirm where she got the lurid footage.
She has reportedly been blackmailing the couple for over a year and has successfully collected some money from the couple before they got fed up and called her bluff.
According to the Police, from 2022 up till 2023, Peace has been tormenting the couple and was making demands from the husband, Eddy Ebube, to pay a certain amount of money or she would upload the sex video on social media.
She has so far collected N500,000 before finally releasing the video on social media.
The couple then involved the authorities by writing a petition to the Commissioner of Police, who referred the matter to the SCID, Yaba, for further investigation.
The police then trailed, arrested and detained Peace. During interrogation, she admitted to having done so but refused to reveal how she got the sex video.
The Police subsequently charged her before the Yaba Magistrate Court for conduct likely to cause breach of public peace by intimidating and blackmailing the complainant.
She pleaded not guilty when she was arraigned.
The prosecutor, Inspector Modupe Olaluwoye, asked the Court for a date for hearing since she pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that she actually committed the alleged offence.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs Linda Balogun, granted her bail with conditions and ordered her remand in custody at the Correctional Centre pending when she will perfect her bail conditions while the matter was adjourned for mention.
