Is it proper to chase your wife away because of childlessness? -Lady asks after her ‘neighbour’ sent his wife packing
Nigerians are divided over the propriety of a man sending his wife packing because of lack of children.
The debate was sparked by a Twitter user, Gold Syril from Delta State, who narrated how her neighbour sent his wife packing because she was not able to give him a child.
“My neighbour sent his wife packing just now because she has not given him a child, I’m pained watching her pack right now. Abeg, is it really proper to chase your wife away bcos of a child? Please, I need answers. God, please bless every TTC.”
Reacting to the post, one Blessing Edere Iruoghene said not having a womb is enough reason to send a wife packing, adding that low sperm count can be treated.
“What if the woman didn’t have a womb? More reason I must do a fertility test with my partner before marriage,” he said.
