“I called her number after hearing the news” – Friend of late Cynthia Okereke speaks on her demise

A friend of the late Nollywood actress, Cynthia Okereke, Bakia Thomas, has shared how he dialled the number of the deceased after hearing the sad news.

Bakia said he did not believe the news when he saw it and decided to call her line. He said her son picked up the call and tearfully informed him that his mother passed on the night before.

The heartbroken man noted that the deceased was like a mother to him and he would definitely find it hard to come to terms with her demise.

In his words:

“Actress Cynthia Okereke has left us. I saw the news earlier on punch newspaper and decided to call her number because we spoke just few days ago.

“Her son picked and told me her mother left them last night. She called to check up on my family just few days ago because we were very close.

“For actors who have worked with me, you will agree it’s difficult to get me off your head so easily because I create memories that last a long while. Many actors turn to become a family long after a project.

“This hits me differently because Aunty Cynthia has been like a mother I can speak to anytime. Rest well Ma’am. God Never Forgets! -Dr. Bakia T Thomas

It would be recalled that the late Okereke was kidnapped in Enugu alongside fellow actor Clemson Cornel last year, but they were later released unhurt by their abductors days later.
