Nigerians blast Twitter user for job-shaming popular Labour Party supporter, Eluu P
One Idris Ibrahim Kalgo has been blasted online by netizens for mocking and shaming Labour Party supporter, Stephen Muoka, popularly known as Eluu P, over his job.
Mr. Muoka went viral during the election period after he was caught on camera chanting ‘Eluu P’ at his polling unit as votes were being counted on February 25, 2023.
In the video that went viral, he was seen counting the votes enthusiastically with the presiding officer of the unit.
Sharing photos of Muoka carrying car parts at his workshop, Idris Kalgo, mocked him, saying he is labouring in pain as Labour Party candidate, Peter Obi did not give him ‘shishi’ (smallest unit of money).
“Ellu ppp Obi, nwannem Obi kererenke…Obi no give am shishi, @AishaYesufu collect una money carry her husband go flex in UK. Una see una life, labour in pain,” he wrote.
Many netizens found the post distasteful and pointed out that there is dignity in labour as the LP supporter is simply earning his honest living.
Some Twitter users also called him a political jobber and shared a screenshot of a tweet in which he said PDP Presidential candidate, Atiku, asked for his bank account details.
Commenting on the tweet, media personality, Noble Igwe said: “There’s a reason a lot of people encourage fraud in Nigeria. We have zero regard for honest living. We shame people grinding daily to put food on their tables. We celebrate money without history,”
