Popular Nigerian singer, politician, preacher, Bankole Wellington, aka Banky W, has subtly responded to the rumour making the rounds that he impregnated a side chick.
Recall that a controversial blog, Gistlovers, set the Internet on fire on Saturday when it published the allegation that the singer was involved in an extra-marital affair with a former signee of his music label, Niyola.
But addressing the congregation at the Waterbrooks church in Lagos on Sunday, the rapper-turned-preacher hinted that the rumour was unfounded.
While he did not directly address the rumour, he said there as a satanic orchestration to prevent him from dealing with the topic he was billed to speak on in the church today, namely, ‘The Prison of Pornography’.
He said the devil did not want his members to listen to the sermon.
He said, “The devil really didn’t want you to hear this message. In fact, he didn’t want us to enter into this series at all. There was an attack at the beginning, but here we are. But the devil is a liar. And God is in control.”
Banky W appreciated his wife, Adesua, for supporting him during his struggle with porn addiction.
“If I don’t thank God for anything in my life, I thank God for this woman [pointing at Adesua],” he said.
The wife who sat in the front row smiled at him, as she listened to him with full concentration.
