A lady simply identified as Marvelous said to be involved in the sex romp which claimed the life of a barber popularly known as Otubong in Diobu area of Port Harcourt, the capital of Rivers State last Friday is now in police custody.

The lady had initially taken to her heels after her lover died during their sex romp. She has however voluntarily surrendered herself to the police, according to Rivers Command spokesperson, SP Grace Iringe-Koko.

The police spokesperson, however, did not give the name of the female suspect or when she turned herself in.

A source who pleaded anonymity told PM News that the female lover of the barber surrendered herself to the Police two days after the incident.

A source had told our reporter last week that two empty black bullet energy drinks, and tablets suspected to be Tramadol and Viagra were recovered in the room where the barber and the lady were involved in marathon sex.

In the meantime, a Human Rights Group, Centre for Basic Rights Protection and Accountability Campaign has urged the the Police not to expose the lady to stigmatization.

Afudoza Jennifer Stephens Esq, a Lawyer and Vice Chairman of the organization in Rivers State in an interview with our reporter said: “We demand that the Police should thoroughly investigate the case of the barber who died after alleged sex romp with the lady as being speculated.

“We urged the Police to carry out their investigation without victimization of the lady who we understand is now in the custody of the police.

“You know she is an adult and there is no law in Rivers State that criminalizes an adult who engages in a relationship or love affair with another adult.

“For the fact that the barber who was the male lover of the lady died in an alleged Sex romp as being insinuated does not mean the lady should be stigmatized.

“Only discrete investigation will prove if she is culpable in the death of the barber. We equally demand that she should be released immediately if investigation shows she is not culpable.”
