Nigerians are currently contributing to relocate a couple to a befitting apartment after they were filmed having their lunch on their settees and sofa in an empty fenced compound, under the elements.
A tweep whose office lies beside the empty plot where the couple are living filmed them.
The Twitter user, Efezino Ukpowe, wrote:
“Every morning I see this couple from my office window and I really wish to help them with a new apartment. They been living like this for 3 months since their home got demolished.”
In a follow up message, he wrote: “I’m actually glad that he has a strong and supporting wife. Raining season is coming soon and it’s being weighing heavy on my mind. How can we help them?”
Nigerians were moved by the plight of the couple. Many of them lauded the wife for sticking with her husband in the appalling situation.
