Promise kept: See first ‘happy hour’ in Akwa Ibom

Social media is agog with clips from what is said to be the first ever ‘Happy Hour’ in the state following the victory of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)’s governorship candidate in Akwa Ibom, Umo Eno.

Recall that Umo Eno, promised to implement an ‘happy hour’ moment in the state every Friday if elected into office.

He explained that it would be a period of the day when drinks would be sold at reduced prices in the bar or other such facilities.

“Every Friday, I will have what I call happy hour for the state. And what do I want to do with happy hour? It’s simple. I want to create business for people that have facility. So, we declare that between 5 and 6, these are the bars that will sell drinks at certain price,” he said.

Now, clips have hit the internet purportedly from the first ever Happy Hour since the candidate emerged tops at the polls.

The clips shows people making merry as they draw beer from what appears to be a tap.

One man can be heard saying it was the best time of his life ‘since my mama born me’. (lol)
