The sitting governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, who is flying the flag of All Progressives Congress (APC), in the ongoing electoral process looks certain to retain his seat as he has won 17 of the 18 Local Government declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission ( INEC) so far.
Results are expected from a total of 20 Local Government Areas out of which 16 have been declared for Sanwo-Olu.
INEC’s Resident Electoral Commissioner, Olusegun Agbaje, confirmed that 16 results are so far available at the collation centre in Yaba, while the remaining four are being awaited.
The leading candidates in the election are Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of the ruling APC, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour (GRV) of the Labour Party and Adediran Abdul-Azeez (Jandor) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
