A group of Naval officers allegedly stormed a police station to beat up some policemen who were on duty in Warri on Friday, March 10, 2023.
According to multiple reports from eye witnesses on Twitter, the incident occurred at Enerhen police station in Warri.
The police officers had allegedly arrested a member of the Nigerian Navy and a newly commissioned naval officer for an undisclosed offence.
His colleagues were offended by the development and stormed the station to exert their own pound of flesh.
It became a full-fledged battle as some of the policemen fought back. Some members of the community bombarded the scene to intervene, but many of them reportedly took to their heels when some shots were fired by the fighters.
Shop owners quickly shut their shops and fled the vicinity.
A clip shows the moment one of the assaulted police, with a gash on his nose engaged one of the naval officers in a combat.
The voice of someone can be heard in the background asking the policeman with the bloody face not to take laws into his hands.
