Nigerians drag alleged son of INEC Chairman days after tweeting that he won’t return to Nigeria if Peter Obi won
Nigerians have called out a young man living abroad who is said to be the son of the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for his tweet on election day.
On Feb. 25, while Nigerians were still voting in various polling units, Naim Mahmood tweeted: “If Peter Obi wins, I’m not going back to Nigeria.”
Then on Wednesday March 1, after INEC Chairman Mahmood Yakubu announced APC’s Bola Tinubu as the winner of the presidential elections, a screenshot purportedly of Naim congratulating his father on a job well done went viral.
Naim’s face can be seen on the screenshot of a video call purportedly with Mahmood Yakubu and it was posted online with the caption: “Alhamdulilah. A heavy task executed perfectly.”
Nigerians trooped to Naim’s election day tweet to call him out afterwards and he was forced to make his Twitter account private.
