A man is being sought in Queensland, Australia, after a surveillance camera caught him stealing the largest dildo on display in an adult store.
The owner of Love Heart Adult Shop arrived at the store on January 21 to find its “largest tester” missing.
Tester toys are not put in boxes and are meant to be on display for customers to grab and feel before they buy the packaged ones. They are samples of packaged sex toys so customers do not have to open every boxed toy before buying.
Footage from the store’s CCTV shows a man grabbing the large toy, looking at it briefly, and then pocketing it.
He continues to wander around the store, checking out other merchandise before leaving.
He had earlier picked up a boxed toy, and he must have seen the ($200) price tag and decided it was too much to pay for rubber manhood. He opted to steal the tester instead.
Unlike boxed toys that are sealed in a sterile condition for immediate use, testers are constantly handled by customers, which makes them unhygienic for anyone to use unless properly washed and sterilised.
The store owner complained that sales had been sluggish following the unfavourable economic climate in the country.
“We’re not the only ones struggling, unfortunately with the cost of living rising, everyone is more careful with how they spend,” she said.
Police are aware and are looking into the theft.
