A trending video has shown the moment the son of the governor of Abia State, Okezie Ikpeazu, showed up at a function the governor was to attend.
The video clip shows the full complement of security details, outriders and escort vehicles pulling up beside the canopies set up for the event.
The Lexus SUV in the middle of the convoy pulls up in front of the gathering of indigenes and dignitaries and a bodyguard steps down from the front passenger seat to open the door the 21-year-old son of the governor to step out.
Apparrently, the crowd knew who was coming for the event beforehand, as the MC can be heard announcing the arrival of Engineer Chinedu Ikpeazu ‘the son of His Excellency, the governor of Abia State’.
The MC added that the son of ‘His Excellency is also His Excellency!’
Engineer Chinedu, beaming with smiles, proceeds to shake a few hands and waves to the waiting indigenes and dancing women who loudly hail him.
Some viewers described the development as unacceptable, arguing that the governor should have delegated his deputy or someone else in his cabinet to represent him.
However, the nature of the event is not known.
