Family seeks justice after their Landlord’s Rottweiler almost killed their 8-month-old son in Ogun State

A toddler has been hospitalised after he was mauled by a guard dog in Ogun State.

The 8-month-old boy was severely bitten by the dog, a Rottweiler dog in a compound at No 44 Ayobami street, Lambe, Akute, Ogun State.

It was gathered that the unfortunate incident happened on Sunday, December 4. According to the father of the victim, the dog belongs to their landlord and is normally released at midnight to guard the compound.

“I’m living in a flat and our landlord also stays in the compound. We’re aware that he has a wild dog which he said he bought for security purposes. He told us that the dog would be released at midnight every day. We understood this and have been avoiding coming in contact with the pet.

So, the landlord’s son was to feed the dog in the afternoon and didn’t chain it. My wife was in-front of our apartment with our son when she saw the dog running towards her. She stood up and the dog jumped at her.

The dog reportedly then attacked the toddler who was with her and injured him.

It was a struggle before the boy could be saved from the dog.

The boy sustained bite injuries all over his body, including arms, legs and torso. A video of the boy being treated at the hospital was uploaded online and shared by Instablog.

The clip showed that the wounds have been sutured.

The police have reportedly been involved in the case.
