There is currently a traffic gridlock on both sides of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway on the Long Bridge after an articulated vehicle rammed into a billboard which fell on vehicles injuring many.
The accident happened on the Ibadan-bound part of the busy expressway in front of Hogan Guard on the Long Bridge in the early hours of Thursday, December 8, 2022.
It is not clear what happened before the trailer veered off the road and rammed into a huge billboard, which then fell on some vehicles causing a total blockage of the road.
The contractor working nearby was contacted to assist to move the affected vehicles and the carcass of the fallen Board off the road.
Officials of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) and Nigeria Police Force (NPF) are on ground managing the situation at the time of filing this report.
Motorists who are heading towards Ibadan are better advised to plan their journeys accordingly.
