The Experience 2022 stands still for Sammie Okposo

Audience with their phone torchlight shining for Sammie Okposo on Friday

The Senior Pastor of the House on the Rock Church, Paul Adefarasin, halted proceedings at The Experience 2022 on Friday to honour the memory of the late gospel singer Sammie Okposo.

It would be recalled that Sammie Okposo, who at one time was the Music Director at Adefarasin’s House on the Rock, died in his sleep at his Lekki home, Lagos at the age of 51 on Friday, November 25.

At this year’s edition of The Experience, Nigeria’s biggest gospel concert, held at the Tafawa Balewa Square in Lagos, Adefarasin, during the ministration, led the audience to observe a moment of silence for Okposo.

He said: “I’ll like you to stand on your feet for one minute as we observe a moment of silence for a legend in gospel music who passed away about a week ago. I speak of a man who graced this platform many times over the last 17 years who has entered the golden and pearly gates of glory. None other than minister Sammie Okposo now of blessed memory.

“Would you please join me in your thoughts and prayers. Consider his wife Ozioma and his daughter as we observe a moment of silence for Sammie Okposo.”

Everyone turned on the torchlights on their phones as they observed the minute silence in honour of the departed singer.
