A man identified as Emeka has been accused of luring a lady to a hotel and drugging her to steal her belongings in Owerri, Imo State.
The suspect allegedly invited Amarachi to Jjmas Hotel, Owerri on November 4 and gave her a drink laced with drugs.
The lady slept and woke up only to find that the man had disappeared with her iPhone 12 ProMax and other belongings, including 32-inch bone-straight hair.
When the victim retrieved the line on the stolen phone, she discovered that her N320,000 had been stolen from her account.
It emerged later that the same man had earlier been arrested by the police in Lagos for drugging and robbing six different women using the same method in various Lagos hotels.
He was identified at the time as Ifeanyi Ezenagu. Items recovered from him at the time included high-end phones, wristwatches, necklaces and other items worth over two million naira.
Lagos police command spokesperson, Ben Hundeyin said that preliminary investigations at the time revealed that the suspect had robbed at least 30 women of their belongings using the same tactic before nemesis caught up with him.
He was apparently able to bail himself out of police custody and relocated to Imo State where he has returned to the same crime.
