Commuters narrowly escape as kidnappers strike again along Lagos- Ibadan Expressway

Armed bandits struck again on the busy Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, spraying passing vehicles with bullets on Tuesday, 8 November.

A commercial bus carrying 18 passengers narrowly escaped the onslaught of the hoodlums believed to be kidnappers.

The bus was going to Ibadan from Lagos about 6 pm when the armed bandits in military camouflage struck.

A passenger in the bus said their vehicle was hit severally. One of the bullets penetrated the windscreen and would have killed the passenger sitting beside the driver if he had not bent low at the time the bullet came.

“The kidnappers trouped out from the bush in military uniform and attacked us by shooting sporadically at the motorists.

“We were lucky to escape them but our vehicle had been riddled with bullets. Police Officers arrived at the scene later, Nigerians should pls stay safe when taking this route,” he said.

The police reportedly evacuated the injured, including the driver, to a hospital for urgent care.
