Foremost telecommunications operator, MTN Nigeria has warned its customers of an impending service outage lasting seven hours on Tuesday.
The operator in a text message sent to its customers indicated they might experience service difficulties with both the voice and data networks on Tuesday due to a scheduled upgrade.
The message sent to customers read: “Dear customer, you may experience some difficulty using MTN services on November 8, 2022, from 12:00 a.m. to 7.00 a.m. due to a system upgrade. We regret any inconvenience this may cause.”
The network obviously chose a time that the upgrade will have the least impact on their customers as most people will be asleep for the greater part of the maintenance.
In the past, when MTN had similar outages, it compensated its customers. Nothing has been said concerning this, but it is most likely the operator will follow that pattern.
