Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Bola Tinubu, has told his supporters that it is insulting to mention the name of superstar actress and Peoples Democratic Party Lagos Deputy Governorship candidate, Funke Akindele, in his presence.
Tinubu was addressing party members at a political gathering on Wednesday, November 2.
A band of female praise singers interrupted his speech with a political song in Yoruba:
“Who is called Funke Akindele? She is an ant beside Sanwo-Olu of Lagos,” they sang.
Tinubu responded that they should not remember to mention such a name where they are gathered. He added that it is an insult for such a name to be brought up at all. It is disrespectful, he said.
He then gave a proverb to illustrate that Akindele has no political gravitas to be reckoned with in Lagos State.
