A 15-year-old boy has been arrested after a teenage girl was allegedly raped on the grounds of Truro Cathedral in Cornwall, United Kingdom.
The alleged incident took place between 9 pm and 10 pm on Friday, October 21, police say.
The boy has been arrested on suspicion of raping a female aged 16 or over, while two others aged 14 and 16 were arrested on suspicion of aiding and abetting.
Devon and Cornwall Police say the trio have been released on police bail until early November.
Specialist officers are supporting the teenage alleged victim through the investigation, which is still ongoing. Parts of the cathedral grounds are to remain cordoned off.
‘Officers closed off an area near to the cathedral whilst initial enquiries were carried out at the scene and a number of enquiries remain ongoing,’ a spokesperson said in a statement.
‘Officers continue to carry out additional high visibility patrols in the area.’
