A clip has emerged showing the moment an elderly man jumped into the lagoon
There is no information as to where precisely this happened, but the person who uploaded said it was the Lagos lagoon.
The clip shows people pleading with the man, who has already climbed onto the other side of the railing on the bridge.
Someone can be heard appealing to the man in Yoruba: “Ẹ máa bọ̀, Baba. Ẹ má ṣe bẹ́ẹ, Baba. Màá fun yin lowo, Baba”. (Come, Baba. Don’t do that, Baba. I will give you money, Baba.)
The man ignored them and jumped into the lagoon as the crowd screamed in terror.
A boat passing raced in the direction of the man but it is not clear if they were able to rescue him.
