Pandemonium broke out at the popular Alaba International market in Lagos this morning October 19, as traders clashed with area boys.
Unconfirmed reports claim the traders are against the unnecessary demand for money by the area boys, also known as Agberos, in the area.
Mammoth crowd of traders can be seen wielding sticks and other weapons as they marched through the market.
Businesses, including banks, quickly shut their doors and remained indoors while the unrest lasted. Thankfully, the rampaging boys did not attack the businesses.
The spokesperson of the Lagos State police command, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, said policemen were dispatched to the market to restore order.
Some persons injured in the fracas were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
