The Speaker of the Ekiti House of Assembly Rt. Hon. Funminiyi Afuye is dead.
It was learnt that the speaker had a cardiac arrest and never recovered from the attack.
He was said to have been rushed to a hospital on Wednesday evening following a brief illness.
Afuye, a lawyer, who represents Ikere Constituency 1 at the Assembly, was 66.
Official information regarding the demise and funeral arrangements is expected.
