A trending video has shown the moment a group of girls tortured their friend for allegedly stealing a phone belonging to one of them.
One of the girls can be heard saying the phone costs more than N400,000, and asks the accused girl if she thinks she can actually get away with stealing that kind of phone.
The accused girl was first stripped to her bum shorts and later down to her birthday suit, as she was tortured by the girls and at least one man whose voice can be heard in the room.
One of the girls torturing the alleged thief can be heard telling others that she even took her to her family and introduced her as her friend.
At some point, they ask her to open her legs and beat her public region with slippers.
The assaulted lady does not fight back. She meekly complies with the instructions dished out to her.
When the beating becomes too much, she can be seen gasping for breath, but one of the ladies says they will pour water on her and resuscitate her if she faints.
The recording of the torture later found its way to social media, probably uploaded by the ladies to disgrace their estranged friend.
Interestingly, the tide of public opinion is against the accusers, as many viewers commented that they should have just handed her over to the police instead of treating her so inhumanely.
One of the viewers wrote: “Dehumanizing your fellow woman over a phone. She’s not supposed to steal but this treatment is bad. Hand her over to police. This is criminal.”
Another said: “Police should do something about this thing before it becomes a trend and they start stripping both innocent people too bad.”
