Family seeks justice as 4-yr-old boy dies after a nurse gave him injection on an empty stomach in Lagos hospital
A couple has taken to social media to seek justice for the sudden death of their 4-year-old son, identified simply as David, after a nurse gave him an injection on an empty stomach.
The family took a video of the deceased boy on a hospital bed, shared it on social media and tagged Instablog.
According to the couple the incident occurred on Saturday, September 24, at a hospital in Ogombo, Ajah area of Lagos State.
According to the couple, the boy was admitted to the hospital on Friday because he had a cough and catarrh.
He was said to have improved and was to be discharged on Saturday evening.
However, a nurse was said to have administered an injection to him on Saturday morning, despite the parents insisting that he should be allowed to eat before taking the injections.
According to them, “As at 6 am this morning he was alive. We even told the nurse that he hasn’t eaten. The boy was even requesting for food on his own. The nurse did not listen, she just injected him four strings at once. Immediately the boy just shut down and she ran away.
The hospital has refused to bring her out, they said she has handed over. Before we could say anything, they called police on us and it’s not like we were violent or anything. We need help, we need justice for David. The nurse intentionally injected him to kill him. Nobody from the hospital is talking to us.”
