Moment hoodlums killed Mile 12 Parks Management Committee Chair, Ariku (Video)

Some hoodlums on Sunday ambushed a member of the Musiliu Akinsanya, MC Oluomo-led Parks Management Committee, in Owode area of Mile 12, Lagos, and hacked him to death.

The man, popularly known as ‘Arikuyeri’, Ariku for short, whose real name is Onaopemipo Lawal, was on a motorbike when three suspected cultists stopped the bike and attacked him.

A video of the attack showed three men repeatedly hitting him with dangerous weapons till he was motionless on the ground.

It was gathered that while the attack on Ariku was ongoing, two other members of the gang were on the lookout for anyone who might want to intervene.

The deceased’s loyalists and team members learnt of the incident late and rushed there after the assailants had left. They rushed him to the hospital where he was confirmed dead.

Some of the loyalists later took to the street to protest his death, causing panic around Mile 12.

Text messages alerting people to stay away from Mile 12 went viral immediately.

MC Oluomo’s media aide, Buhari Jimoh, confirmed the attack on the late Lawal to Vanguard. He speculated that he must have been killed by those who suspected he was always reporting their criminal activities to the Police.

Ariku’s lifeless body on the road, with the bloodied sticks and iron bar used on him by his assailants lying beside him.

The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, announced that policemen had been drafted to the scene to restore normalcy.
