The governor of Kaduna state, Nasir El-Rufai, has ridiculed the supporters of the Labour Party’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi, mobilizing for a “two-million-man march” for the former Anambra State governor in Kaduna State.
The governor said they would be lucky to have 200 people apart from the ‘imports’ from the south east who will arrive by night bus.
Some of Obi’s supporters, stung by the mockery have reported his account.
In a bid to drum up support for the LP presidential candidate, many of his supporters have been holding marches across the country.
Now, apparently, one is being planned for Kaduna and an Obi supporter, named Abdullahi Zarma, tweeted about it:
”Kaduna Two Million March for Peter Obi Kaduna Two Million March for Peter Obi Kaduna Two Million March for Peter Obi Kaduna Two Million March for Peter Obi Kaduna Two Million March for Peter Obi Kaduna Two Million March for Peter Obi #KadunaTwoMillionMarchforPeterObi”
Reacting to the tweet, Governor El-Rufai mocked the twitter user with laughing emojis adding that he hopes Obi fans can get up to two hundred people in the streets of Kaduna for the march. See his tweet below.
Some supporters of Obi found the tweet distasteful and reported the tweet to Twitter, expecting the microblogging site to take action against the governor.
Twitter said they had reviewed the tweet and found nothing wrong with it.
In reaction to this, El Rufai tweeted:
“The desperation of so-called ‘Obidients’ knows no bounds….they insult everyone they disagree with, but cannot accept that some find them disagreeable & have opinions too! One of them in Germany found my tweet too hot to handle. @Twitter responded below. I STILL DEY LAFF!”
