A man came under friendly fire from his gang members as they tried to assassinate a rival at a Loop parking lot in Chicago on Saturday.
The shot rival, 29, lost his life on the spot in the incident which took place in the 400 block of South Clark Street around 3:20 a.m.
He was taken to Northwestern Hospital with multiple gunshot wounds to the body and was pronounced dead by medics.
The 23-year-old man who was mistakenly shot by his gang members was taken to the same hospital with gunshot wounds to the right leg and arm.
Area Three detectives are investigating.
