MTN bus rams into corpse being taken for burial
Deceased’s family injured, corpse returned to mortuary
A vehicle conveying a dead body to the Eastern part of the country for a funeral ceremony and burial was hit by an MTN-branded bus in Makurdi, Benue State, leading to the cancellation of the burial arrangements.
The corpse was being taken to the East for burial when the accident happened around Katsina Ala and Konshisha Street Junction, High Level, Makurdi.
The wife of the deceased and other family members were injured in the accident.
According to a Facebook user, Gadafi AS who posted the incident, the injured had to be rushed to the hospital, while the body that was to be buried was returned to the mortuary.
Gadafi AS wrote: “This is Very Pathetic for this lady that lost her husband who (sold) second hand shoes opposite B. Division high level die two days ago & she is conveying her husband Corps to the Village in the Eastern part of the country at 12.30pm one MTN Bus ran into them by Kastina Ala & Konshisha Street junction high level.
“The Souvivors where rush immiatelly to Bishop Murray Medical Center Makurdi,while the body of her husband would be taken back to the Motury pending the recovering of the wife & the children.
“24hrs TRAVSI NGO appeal to Government to put a small speed bomps to reduce frequent Accident on this black sports which has claim many lives of citizens.
“The Divisional Police Officer B division High level Makurdi are carrying on with the investigation.
“Lets Pray for the soul of the Departed & pray for this young Widow & her helpless children,we call on her husband family members, relatives & friends to come over to Bishop Murray Medical Center Makurdi.
“24hrs TRAVSI NGO commend the youths & Our Volunteers for their prompt response.”
