‘They paid me N5000 for movie a role’ – Kenneth Aguba

Veteran actor, Kenneth Aguba, who was in the news recently after he was pictured sleeping outside in the open, has spoken about his time in Nollywood.

The actor, who was rescued by a Port Harcourt cleric who offered him decent accommodation and food, said he was exploited in the movie industry.

Aguba, who was interviewed in a car as he was being transported somewhere, disclosed that when movie producers paid him N5000, they believed they had done him a huge favour.

He recalled that a moviemaker invited him to Jos for a shoot and he finished the shoot and was told to go and that he would be paid later.

He said when he asked later for the money the movie producer asked him to come to Jos for the payment.

He lamented that what he was to collect would have been swallowed by the transport fare to Jos and back to his base in the East. He said that was how he left the money.

He said he was happy now that God had remembered him.

Port Harcourt-based Apostle Chinyere Chibuzor, has now taken over his care and maintenance.
