Lady posted: ‘My time has come. You must continue your journey without me’ on Tiktok, dies 2 weeks later in boat mishap in Ikorodu
Friends and family have taken to social media to mourn one of the victims of the boat mishap in Ikorodu a few days back.
Blessing Oluwakemi Asah was one of the two passengers in the boat that developed a mechanical fault shortly after leaving the dock in Ikorodu and subsequently capsized on July 6, 2022.
While other passengers were rescued, Oluwakemi Asah and another passenger were not so lucky.
Her friends have posted a ‘cruise’ video the lady shared on her Tiktok with her fans where she mimed a message for fun.
She captioned the message, “Me, once it is 5 pm at work” and filmed herself throwing her personal effects into her handbag in readiness for heading home.
She mimed the spoken words: “My time has come. You must continue the journey without me.”
It was a video clip created totally in reference to her work and was purely meant for fun among her friends and fans.
Unfortunately, it became prophetic, as she has now left her family and friends behind to continue the journey without her.
Her friends who uploaded the video, Oluwabusayo, wrote: “Nigeria happened to my friend 💔💔 just because you wanted to beat the crazy traffic in Lagos to avoid being late for work, you took a means of transportation that killed you!
They endangered people’s lives by not fixing their faulty boat!”
That was apparently in reference to the fact that the accident occurred after the boat developed a mechanical fault and could not move. It tumbled afterwards.
The guards were able to out Oluwakemi shortly after the mishap, but they apparently got to her too late. They spent some time pumping her in the hope she would come round. They did some other manoeuvres they believed would bring her back.
However, it was all to no avail. She was later confirmed dead in a hospital.
