Lagosians stop Osodi traffic for apple seller who slipped, overturned his apple cart on the road

The humane side of Osodi was manifested in the downpour of Thursday when a cart-pusher selling apples slipped while crossing the road and overturned his cart filled with apples.

The street urchins who many thought would scramble for the apples surprised onlookers as they rushed onto the road to stop the busy Osodi traffic before helping the fruit seller to gather his scattered apples.

Bystanders and commuters joined the effort to salvage the apples.

The road was only declared open after the last of the apple had been retrieved and put back in the cart of the ‘aboki fruit seller who was full of gratitude to the area boys and others who assisted him.

An eye-witness @UnlimitedEniola tweeted afterwards:

“A northerner was crossing the road in the wet rain in Oshodi, and his wheelbarrow tumbled, emptying the apples.

“Immediately, everyone started picking, stopped vehicles.

No one asked about his religion or tribe, they were all concerned and helped.

ONENESS is what we need in Nigeria.”
