Lady abducted by bandits uses hidden phone to send out GPS location of forest where she, others are held
A psychotherapist, Ameerah Sufyan, has sent out an SOS and GPS coordinates of her location via Twitter after she was abducted from her home in Abuja.
In her SOS, she said she was abducted at gunpoint by “people with police uniforms and a van” and there were at least three pregnant women and children in captivity with her.
She added that they were all taken from their houses in different parts of Abuja.
She said they are 17 in number, including 3 pregnant women and two kids.
She told friends that she has shared her location on WhatsApp and asked them to check.
In an update, she explained that the hostages had been divided into groups and their abductors said they would be taken to different states.
She also disclosed that the people who kidnapped them are made up of 4 Yorubas and 2 Fulanis.
She wrote: “Please whoever has my WhatsApp number I sent a broadcast message of my location, we were abducted at gunpoint by ppl with police uniforms and a van from our houses from different parts of Abuja, we’re 17 including 3 pregnant women and two little kids, they didn’t see my phone
“They’re 4 Yoruba and two Fulani men They divided us up an hour ago we’re 7 here. The other vehicle they said they will reach Ilorin and ours will reach Ibadan or Ikeja as they said.”
Many people applauded her braveness and smartness to hide a phone to send out her location without her captors knowing.
Twitter is awash with calls from concerned Nigerians for security operatives to act fast before the abductors find the phone on her or she is hurt.
Former presidential aide, Bashir Ahmad wrote: “We have been in touch with the FCT Police Command on the unfortunate abduction of Ameerah Sufyan and other victims, the FCT CP assured their safe return as security agencies already activated their rescue operations and asked any citizen with relevant info to reach out to them.”
