Samaritans have taken to social media to find the relatives of a baby picked up from the scene of the horrific shooting by terrorists in Owo, Ondo State earlier today.
The baby, just a few months old, was carried by a caregiver and photographed in order to help find his/her relatives.
Her/her mother was shot dead in the mass shooting by the terrorists.
Meanwhile, Rev Father Andrew Abayomi, one of the priests at St Francis Catholic Church, Owa-luwa Street, Owo, Ondo State, where the shooting took place said they locked themselves up in the church for about 20 minutes to prevent the terrorist from finding and killing them.
Abayomi, in an interview with BBC Yoruba, said the attack occurred as the service was about to end.
He revealed that the gunshot which came from different corners, pushed them into locking the church for over 20 minutes till the gunmen left.
The Catholic Priest said: “We were about to round off service. I had even asked people to start leaving, that was how we started hearing gunshots from different angles.
“We hid inside the church but some people had left when the attack happened. We locked ourselves in the church for 20 minutes. When we heard that they had left, we opened the church and rushed victims to the hospital.”
