FCTA votes to renovate national mosque and Christian center with N1bn

The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has reportedly voted to renovate the national mosque and Christian centre with N1bn.

FCT Minister, Muhammed Bello who disclosed this on Thursday, June 3, while featuring at the weekly ministerial briefing organised by the Presidential Communication Team at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, also revealed that the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has started generating over N200 billion annually through its aggressive internally generated revenue (IGR) drive.

He said the FCT now rated second in terms of IGR drive, intends to beat Lagos as the highest revenue generating state in the country.

While the sum of N1 billion (N500 million each) had been set aside to renovate the National Mosque and National Christian Centre, to make them presentable tourist sites for visitors to the city of Abuja, the administration will also renovate the Federal Secretariat and National Assembly. The sitting arrangements in the two chambers at the national assembly would be changed.
